The
Great Pink Pumpkin Run will be held on Saturday, October 18 at 10 a.m. on
Moraine Park’s Fond du Lac campus. This event was planned by a Business
Practice Firm course in the spring semester of last year and has been carried
through with this year's class and six other program area courses. The
idea was generated from one of MPTC's business instructors, Jeff Stueber, who
has a passion for helping the community and we collaborated with other program
instructors to enhance the activities at the upcoming event.
Just to give you an idea of the
collaborative program courses involved: Graphics Design students originated the
motivational posters that you will see under the Photos/Inspiring
Posters tab on the website below, Culinary Arts will be making pink
pumpkin cookies to sell at the event, cosmetology students will be providing
pink hair extensions and nail polish, early childhood students will be
providing children's activities, medical assistant students are doing free
blood pressure screening, and the corrections program will be helping man
traffic and safety issues, and student senate are helping paint the 200
pumpkins. We even grew our own pumpkin patch!!
